A shell casing was found Thursday outside a middle school in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, police said.

The casing was located in front of the entrance to Williams Intermediate School on South Street.

Police said no damage was done to the school, and officials are reviewing surveillance video to determine how the shell casing ended up on school property.

The school remains in session, and parents were notified about the casing.

Bridgewater police officers have been present at schools in the town since the school shooting in Ulvade, Texas, and their presence is expected to continue, officials said.
