The main works on the construction of the bridge started in March. They were related to piling, which is the basis for the foundation of the facility.First, the piles were driven under two land supports on the right bank of the Vistula, then the construction site entered the river. On May 10, this stage of work was completed.A total of 183 piles were placed under all 7 supports.160 piles were driven (101 into the bottom of the river, 59 on land), and 23 were drilled (at the abutments of the future bridge). The contractor, i.e. the Budimex company, attempted to use this technique because it was fixing the piles in the places where the crossing would connect with the mainland. That is why he used CFA piles (Continuous Flight Auger), i.e. piles screwed into the ground with a continuous auger. The next stage is the installation of steel sheet piles.Their task is to create tight supports for the excavation of the supports - that is why they are embedded in the bottom on the river and driven into the ground on land.A total of 584 sheet piles will be used.So far, there are 20 sheet piles in the river current, next to the support, which will be in the middle of the Vistula. The installation of sheet piles at the other two current supports is planned for May 18.Driving the sheet piles into the ground for two land supports on the Praga side began in April. It went so smoothly that at the support closer to ul.Wybrzeże Szczecińskie Street arming and carpentry works are already underway.First, 19 cubic meters were poured.leveling concrete (the so-called concrete plug) and 7 tons of steel were laid, which was then poured with 66 cubic meters.concrete to form the base of the pillar.Reinforcement laying is now being finalized, for which the contractor will use 3.8 tonnes of steel. The next step will be to pour 35 cubic meters.structural concrete pillar. The first prop will be ready next week. The next one will be the Prague support closer to the river.Budimex wants to pour leveling concrete next week, and in the next week to make reinforcement. This support will consume much more materials - more than 32 tons of steel will be used to prepare the foundation reinforcement.Work is also underway on the side of the Vistula Boulevards. They involve driving steel sheet piles under the retaining wall at the point where the bridge will connect with the mainland. As many as 142 sheet piles will be hammered here.So far, Budimex has located 36 of them. There is a website about the construction of a pedestrian and bicycle bridge over Prague. You can read all the information about the crossing there.Reports from the construction site and photo galleries of the progress of works will be published there periodically. We encourage you to visit: mostnaprage.waw.pl.Send a copy to my mail
